Applications for a Habitat house are generally solicited late in the fall of each year; thereby allowing for the start of plans for construction early in the new year.

• Notification for new Applicants is done via radio, public notices, & newspaper advertisements.
• Applicants can only obtain an Application by attending one of the scheduled meetings.  The guidelines & conditions of applying are clearly set forth.
• HFHSC complies with all rules & regulations of federal guidelines for housing.
• HFHSC does not discriminate in the selection process.
• Prospective Applicants must complete the application in its' entirety & provide evidence that they have the ability to pay monthly mortgage/escrow payment, interest free for a 20 year mortgage.
• Applicants must provide complete details as to their existing housing conditions & supported by documentations as to their ability to pay.
• Applicants that fulfill the application requirements will then be interviewed in their  existing house location so as to verify the conditions & demonstrated need for new housing.
• A selected Applicant must agree to Partner with HFHSC & perform "sweet equity" hours in the planning & construction of their home.
• With full agreement, a letter of intent is executed fulfilling an agreement of the parties to move forward into construction.
• Upon completion, the Family Partner is expected to execute a formal 20 year, interest free mortgage with HFHSC.
